Hidden Coastlines is published quarterly by season and distributed FREE throughout the coastal and near-coastal communities of the Hidden Coast, a pristine 100+ mile swath of Florida's north Gulf Coast, from Cedar Key in the south to Keaton Beach in the north.
Within the pages of Hidden Coastlines read about the natural wonders of this region: rivers, springs, wildlife refuges, parks and island beaches. We focus on nature-based activities and destinations, with stories and columns by local writers on gardening, outdoor activities, local wildlife, and health. We also love to feature local history, personalities, businesses and events. Are stories are carefully researched and written. Look for Hidden Coastlines at gas stations, motels, convenience stores,
markets, medical or professional waiting rooms and restaurants in Cedar Key,
Chiefland, Fanning Springs, Trenton, Old Town, Suwannee, Cross City, Horseshoe
Beach and Steinhatchee. Most community magazines serve smaller communities within large urban centers. However, the Hidden Coast is a remote and untouched paradise. Strung out like colorful assorted beads on a string, our small communities are isolated from each other by distance, but share some underlying common bonds, both obvious and subtle -- and some fascinating differences. Each of the coastal communities -- Cedar Key, Suwannee, Horseshoe Beach and Steinhatchee -- all so varied in appearance and flavor, belong to the same shallow, low-impact coastline, and share the same passion for water activities and nature. We hope that within the pages of Hidden Coastlines you will find entertainment and information, and a wider awareness of this wonderful place which is North Florida's Hidden Coast.
